Meeting
Place & Time
In the upper right hand corner of this page, you can enter your location or a point that you know of and hit enter and google maps will open and show you a map to the meeting location and driving time.
Interstate 70, Exit #114 - West Glenwood Cross the river, take immediate
left on Devereux Rd. Please
see our printable map. Trips leave right on schedule - times
may vary throughout the season. Be certain to CHECK-IN at least
30-45 minutes prior to your scheduled departure for sign-in and
safety orientation.
What should I bring?
We provide all the necessary equipment and safety features. You need only
wear clothes that can get wet and prepare for sun and wind exposure with
sunscreen, hats, and a water bottle if you like. A towel and dry change
of clothes are nice for after the trip.
What should I wear?
Bathing suits or T-shirt and shorts is recommended as well as a light-weight
nylon windbreaker. Heavy cotton clothing, such as sweatshirts or jeans,
will absorb the cold water leaving you to freeze, so it is better to wear
only nylon or taslon materials and store heavier clothes in your vehicle
or lockers for after the trip. Wetsuits and scuba boots are recommended
for May and September rafting so bring them if you own one. We have nice
wetsuit rentals available.
Do I need previous experience?
We have trips available for all levels of experience. Our most popular
trips are family oriented so no previous experience is necessary and children
are always welcome. In high water (mid-June to mid-July) more adventurous
trips can be arranged but would not allow children under age 13.
Is transportation provided?
Yes, complimentary transportation is provided to and from the raft launch
and pick-up sites. We also provide complimentary shuttle service from
any local (Glenwood Springs) accommodations or the Amtrak station. Just
call to arrange your pick-up!
How many to a raft?
Each raft carries 6-8 participants plus one certified guide. Your group
of 6 or less will always stay together, and may be paired with other individuals
to make up a group of 6-8 total. Groups of 7-10 will get their own raft
along with one of our guides.
Do I get to participate?
Yes, if you like! Most of our guests like to participate in the rafting
adventure by paddling upon the guide’s instruction and commands.
However, if you just want to sit back and relax, we have equipment available
to allow the guide to fully maneuver the raft alone.

Do I need to know how to swim?
No. However, you will get splashed so if you are afraid of the water,
we would recommend reserving a “float trip”. Please notify
your guide if you are a non-swimmer. Note: Some of the more advanced trips
offered during high water season may require the ability to swim.
Is lunch provided?
A full picnic lunch is included only on all our Full day tours. Half day
and short trips may have lemonade and water provided. Lunch can be arranged
upon request for an additional fee.
Can handicapped individual participate?
Yes! Our facilities and trips are fully suited to all types of physical
handicaps.
Can I bring my pet?
Pets are not permitted on any of the trips. A kennel is available for
those traveling with a pet to avoid overheating in parked cars.
What is Glenwood Springs' weather like?
Glenwood Springs is at 5730 ft. elevation, and summer weather is usually
very moderate. Highs are generally in the mid-80’s and night time
lows in the 50’s.
What if it rains?
Mother nature can be somewhat unpredictable here in the Rocky Mountains.
But that doesn’t stop us. We provide rain gear and have full wetsuits
available for anyone who may tend to chill easily. We guarantee our trip
departure so come rain or shine, we go out regardless. However, you always
have the right to cancel or change your trip, prior to the trip departure,
with no penalty.
